Beaverstown Golf Club presents golfers with one of the most unique challenges in modern golf.  It's design makes the best use of its many natural features - the shores of Rogerstown estuary in North County Dublin, 6 lakes, 36 acres of mature apple trees and a stream which meanders through the course.  The orchards, in fact, border the tees, fairways and undulating greens on 8 of the holes, while the streams and lakes come into play on 12 holes.

Of particular note is the 411-yard 14th hole.  Already acclaimed as a wonderful addition to the course, this newly-aligned par 4 is arguably the feature hole at Beaverstown. Only a well-hit drive will allow the player to reach the green with a medium iron over a menacing stream. A tall ash tree in the middle of the fairway puts a premium on accuracy while par is further protected by the orchard that surrounds the green on three sides.  As index five, the high-handicapper can safely lay up and a good chip could earn him/her a net birdie!

This 140-acre course is built to USGA standard with the sand-based greens allowing play all year round. The course is particularly beautiful in May during apple blossom time.

Originally designed in 1982 by the legendary Eddie Hackett (Old Head of Kinsale, Connemara, Waterville, Enniscrone) and remodelled by Peter McEvoy OBE (Fota Island, Rathsallagh, Powerscourt, Glen of the Downs, Beaufort, Castlebar, Tramore, Woodbrook), the course is a true test of golf.

Directions from the City:

Take the M1 North, continue past the exits for the M50, the Airport and Swords.
Leave the M1 at Junction 4 (signed Skerries & Donabate).
At the roundabout at the top of the slip road follow the signs for Donabate/Portrane (Hearse Road).
Follow this road  for approx. 3 miles until it crosses the railway bridge at Donabate Village.
Swing left and continue past the red brick Church on the right-hand side of the road.
After Keelings, pub take the slip road to the left (Beaverstown Rd).
Beaverstown Golf Club is at the top of this road (1 mile) on the left-hand side.
